Get MORE from a Body Scrub with these Ingredients

By now, you've purchased enough body scrubs to know they are NOT all the same. The experience will vary from product to product. Some contain ZERO lasting benefits and wash right off the skin and down the drain along with your investment. It's frustrating and disappointing, to say the least.

Let's put an end to that by looking at the ingredients that will make a HUGE difference when they are in your body scrub.

First, Why Scrub?

Skin is the largest organ of the human body. It goes through a process of shedding dead skin cells is called desquamation. We are carrying around dead skin cells all over our body. Kind of gross, right! The skin you see now will be gone in about a month because our body gets rid of 30,000 to 40,000 old skin cells every day!

When these dead skin cells reach the top of the skin, it's a good practice to remove them to allow the skin to look and feel clearer, brighter, and healthier.

Using a body scrub every few days expedites the process and allows the skin to breathe better, feel softer, and resist disease.

So using a body scrub will improve your skin's ability to protect you and look more youthful longer.

Look for MORE of these ingredients in a Body Scrub.

  • A REAL Exfoliant

Pumice is a powerful exfoliant, and it should be among the top 3 ingredients. It does an excellent job of removing dead skin cells, while other product ingredients help to smooth and soften. Pumice is the cooled, hardened, and sudsy part of volcanic lava. Using pumice in a scrub saves you from having to sanitize a pumice stone regularly.

TIP: Jojoba beads alone are not enough to exfoliate the body. Jojoba beads are great for the delicate skin on the face. The spherical shape is actually hardened jojoba esters into spherical form. Jojoba mimics the structure of the skin. Some fear using jojoba beads on the face because of rumored micro-tears. That is fake news. Jojoba beads cannot tear the skin at all. As such, these beads provide very light topical exfoliationThe biggest benefit to jojoba beads is helping skin hold moisture longer as the botanical extract from the beads is absorbed into the skin and mimics skin sebum, and is non-comedogenic (won't clog pores.)

  • Antioxidants

Skin is exposed to environmental toxins on a daily basis, from sun exposure to poor diets and neglect. Using a body scrub with antioxidant properties will fight cancer-causing free radicals and help skin protect you from disease. I love antioxidants like kukui nut oil, avocado oil, olive oil, aloe, green/white teas. A list of antioxidants for the skin.

  • Anti-Inflammatory

When the skin presents with rough patches, eczema, or rashes, it's important to provide some anti-inflammatory relief against itching and skin irritation. Ingredients like kukui nut oil, aloe, green and white teas, horse chestnut extract, seaweed extract, and caffeine are among my faves. A report on anti-inflammatory skincare ingredients.

  • Skin Barrier Protection with Polyphenols

Polyphenols offer therapeutic level protective properties for the skin. Examples of skin barrier protectors with polyphenols are kukui nut oil, green and white teas, olive oil, jojoba beads, horse chestnut extract. A report on skin barrier effects of some plant oils.

  • Vitamins Good for Skin Health

Vitamins A, C, D, and E are very nourishing to the skin in a topical formula from sources such as kukui nut, avocado, olive oil, and all-natural vitamins (not synthetic) forms. A report on Micronutrients in Skin Health.

The bottom line is to take the time to read the label BEFORE you make a purchase, and you'll get better results.

That's why my favorite body scrub EVER is TEAriffic Antioxidant Body Scrub. It's loaded with quality ingredients. 98% natural, with 70% of the ingredients organic. Less than 2% of the ingredients maintain the stability and preservation of the product.

HELP! I Hate the Wrinkles Around My Mouth.

Wrinkles around the central lip area are called vertical rhytids and we all hate them, right! They can be very difficult to fix. Even with a facelift, it only pulls this area laterally and the dissection does not and cannot extend into the lip area.

But don't lose hope! We have options.

10 Tips to Improve the Neck and Décolleté

September 08, 2021

Let's just say it. Aging isn't for the faint of heart. Therefore, it's important to keep it all in perspective. There will be some things about our appearance that we can improve with some hard work and dedication. There will be some things we can pay a doctor to fix (and then maintain with a consistent skincare routine). There'll be some things we cannot do anything about. I'll never be 5'8" or have the body of a runway model and I'll never be 25 again.

I'm going to share some things we can do to improve the neck and décolleté with a little bit of hard work and dedication.

A Non-Surgical Approach to Saggy Jowls
A Non-Surgical Approach to Saggy Jowls

September 01, 2021

When you look in the mirror and you see excess skin & folds forming from the cheeks to the jawline, you are seeing saggy jowls. When collagen and elastin becomes depleted, sagging skin is the result.

And that's not all. Things like repeated facial expressions, weight loss, sun exposure, smoking, and even the over use of computers or phones creating “tech neck” accentuate sagging in the jowl area.
