I’ve shared many techniques and treatments for releasing and relaxing lip lines over the years, but my new device is a game-changer! The Eye and Lip Pro+ is the latest addition to my signature line. Per its name, you can use it on the eyes too, but today we’re going to cover the lips.
The rejuvenating effects are visible after one treatment, smoothing lines above and around the lips and providing filler-free lip plumping. Use consistently, and with massage and concentrated topicals to optimize smoothing.
WHAT IS THE EYE AND LIP PRO+?

Sometimes when you don’t have the product you want, you must create it yourself. That’s what The Eye and Lip Pro+ is for me. I designed it with both my clients and fellow estheticians in mind. It’s a powerful and effective professional-grade device that is gentle and easy to use at home.
To make the most of your time and budget, it delivers 4 modalities that address the biggest client requests related to aging around the eyes and lips. The EMS alone is worth a $200 treatment with me!
Choose between these 3 modes. I believe in getting the most out of each treatment, so I typically use Mode 3.
-
Mode 1: LED and RF
-
Mode 2: LED and EMS
-
Mode 3: LED, RF, EMS, and Vibration
HOW EACH MODE REJUVENATES LIPS

COMPLETING YOUR TREATMENT
Combining the steps below isn’t just proactive, it repairs skin and slows aging in many of my clients.
STEP 1: CLEANSE AND EXFOLIATE

Cleanse your face, and if it’s time to exfoliate, exfoliate. When you have an excess amount of cellular tissue, it makes fine lines and static wrinkles look like mountains. Actives can’t penetrate past this buildup, reducing the efficacy of daily, pre-treatment, and post-treatment product absorption. I suggest the Enzyme Rescue Mask. It gently exfoliates and contains soothing ingredients, including Japanese green tea and comfrey. Apply and rinse off after 15 minutes.
STEP 2: APPLY SERUM AND CONDUCTIVE GEL
Around your eyes, a serum may be enough to achieve comfortable slip and glide with The Eye and Lip Pro+, but on the lips, you’ll need to layer conductive gel over your serum—or just use conductive gel. Don’t forget that you can apply eye serum to your lips. After serum absorbs, I apply a generous layer of Hydrate and Conduct on and around the lips. This formulation glides effortlessly over your skin, while providing moisture and hydration.

STEP 3: TREAT YOUR SKIN
Use Mode 2 or 3, as EMS is essential for smoothing lip lines. Press gently, gliding in 360-degree circles around your mouth. This device is gentle, but you must keep it moving. One of the things that makes the Eye and Lip Pro+ unique is that you can glide it over the pink part of your lips, but use it sparingly, as the skin on your lips is ultra-thin. It only takes a few passes on your lips to plump up and smooth out wrinkles. The device automatically turns off after 10 minutes.
STEP 4: MOISTURIZE AND PROTECT
Apply a high-performing moisturizer. If the sun’s still shining bright, apply sunscreen. Be mindful that even the most concentrated topicals aren’t enough for maximum smoothing and firming.
PRO TIP #1: PRE-TREATMENT LIP LINE AND FROWN LINE RELEASE
If you’re familiar with my skincare philosophy, you know that my 3-step signature treatment begins with targeted massage, followed by using one or more anti-aging devices, and finishing with high-performing topicals. You’ll get the most out of your at-home facials if you do the same. Watch this video to see how I release upper lip lines when using the Eye and Lip Pro+ by anchoring my finger at the bow of the lip and pulling out and down.
I also suggest a weekly DIY buccal massage. This is an intraoral technique that relaxes the jaw, upper lip muscles, and the depressing depressor muscles. Using devices with targeted massage relaxes tight muscles and lengthens shortened muscles that intensify the lines around your mouth. This includes the masseter muscle. If your jaw muscle is tight, your entire face is tight. Releasing the jaw smooths and lifts your face up and out, and feels amazing.
Wondering if a few minutes of massage really makes a difference?
Yes, a few minutes of massage makes a world of difference! Relaxing the muscles that form lip wrinkles is so effective that when one of my clients moved out of state, she reached out several months later to discuss why she wasn’t getting the same results from the same anti-aging treatments. I asked a few questions and quickly determined that her new esthetician wasn’t performing a buccal massage prior to her treatment. These are the muscles on the side of the face that intensify frown lines and marionette lines.
By adding buccal massage before her treatment, it pulls wrinkles out and lengthens the depressing depressors, resulting in improved smoothing.
PRO TIP #2: GLYCATION AND FINE LIP LINES
Another reason to regularly exfoliate, massage, and treat is that your lips are prone to glycation. Advanced glycation end-products (AGEs) are a cause of skin aging that doesn’t get enough attention. AGEs occur when glucose binds to collagen and elastin, making connective tissues stiff and inflexible. Glycation is inevitable, but you may have developed some skincare and lifestyle habits that accelerate this process. If you’re experiencing premature lines and wrinkles, AGEs could be the culprit. The approach above won’t reverse glycation, but it addresses many of the factors that contribute to aging.
There are 3 primary causes of AGEs:
Sugar
Sugar is our cell’s primary energy source. The glucose in sugar naturally binds to collagen and elastin fibers. This makes your connective tissue less flexible. When connective tissues are rigid, skin loses its bounce, and fine lines and wrinkles are accelerated. Although this occurs naturally, if you overconsume sugar, you accelerate glycation and the visible signs of aging.
Inflammation
There are a variety of factors that can damage or inflame your skin. Some of the top causes are UV damage, poor nutrition, exposure to oxidants, and harsh skincare products or treatments. Harsh skincare products and treatments, or misuse and overuse of gentle products and devices, can cause what’s called inflammaging. This is a chronic low-grade inflammation that can be difficult to identify, as it may not cause redness or swelling. Accelerated glycation is one of many ways chronic inflammation negatively impacts your skin.
The Natural Aging Process
Aging is a beautiful thing because it means you’re still here! Glycation is a natural part of the aging process. Eating a balanced diet that’s low in sugar, refined carbohydrates, and processed foods minimizes natural AGEs. Also, prioritize hydration, and exercise regularly so that your body puts the sugars you consume to good use.
PRO TIP #4 KEEP MOVING YOUR FACE
Last, but certainly not least, keep moving your face! The less you move your face, the more your skin wrinkles and sags. Yes, the repetitive motion of facial expressions creates creases that grow into smile lines, fine lines, and dynamic wrinkles. Injectables like Botox relax the muscles that activate these lines when you move your face. An alternative to Botox is strengthening, lengthening, and releasing these same muscles. The approach above does just that. If you turn to Botox and fillers too, I completely understand.
