Esthetician-Approved Vitamin C Oil That Brightens Like Crazy

Topical vitamin C isn’t a passing skincare trend, it’s a powerful addition to your anti-aging skincare routine. Like all skincare products, the quality of active ingredients is everything. When speaking of Vitamin C, it’s the difference between irritating and minimally effective or gentle and ultra-effective.

I’m excited to share my latest product, CBE Botanicals Vitamin C Oil. This gentle PM oil brightens like crazy! I selected a range of multitasking oils that boost collagen production, fade discoloration, and diminish fine lines.

Let’s explore what it is, why it works, and why I suggest oil instead of serum.

Skin-Healthy Vitamin C

Vitamin C Facial Oil

Vitamin C is one of the most powerful antioxidants for your body, inside and out. For your skin, it stimulates cellular repair, boosts collagen production, and blocks melanin  to minimize scarring, sun spots, and other discoloration. Apply topically each evening to smooth fine lines and stimulate a radiant “lit from within” glow.

Even if you consume your daily dose through fruits, vegetables, or supplementation, the antioxidants in your blood aren’t concentrated enough to circulate to the outer layers of your skin. Topical application combined with dietary antioxidants supercharges anti-aging.

Proactive Anti-Aging

My luxe Vitamin C Oil is designed to take both a proactive and reactive approach to anti-aging. It neutralizes free radicals caused by environmental stressors, including sun and UV ray damage. This includes the often underestimated indoor UV rays, such as the blue light of electronic devices and fluorescent lighting. My oil doesn’t replace the need for daily broad-spectrum UV protection, it stimulates the repair of damage from overexposure. Also, damage occurs when you forget to reapply UV protection throughout the day.

Vitamin C works best against environmental stressors when combined with vitamin E oil, which is included in my proprietary formulation.

In addition to slowing the visible signs of aging, Vitamin C stimulates collagen synthesis to repair existing cellular damage, lift skin, and improve elasticity. This includes brightening dull winter skin and fading year-round hyperpigmentation.

The Facial Oil Misconception

Hyperpigmentation

A common misconception is that you shouldn’t apply oil-based products if your skin is oily or acne-prone. As long as the product you select is non-comedogenic and designed for your face, it won’t clog your pores or increase oil or acne. In fact, many facial oils help your skin regulate its sebum lipid layer. This minimizes the greasy shine, delivering a natural radiance.

If you’re acne-prone or have sunspots or other hyperpigmentation, Vitamin C will fade your acne scars and even your skin tone. My facial oil is designed for PM use, but you can layer a daytime facial oil for hydration and targeted skin care.

Layering Facial Oils

Facial oil is always the last step of your skincare routine. If you apply oil first, your serum and cream won’t penetrate your pores. Properly formulated facial oils penetrate your pores through your serum and moisturizer, while providing a hydrating and protective barrier.

Apply Vitamin C Oil in the evening after your serum and moisturizer. Wait 1 to 2 minutes between serum, moisturizer, and oil. Apply daytime oil after serum and moisturizer, before sunscreen and makeup.

Body Oils

You can also apply body oil after body lotion to maximize hydration. Or, mix a few drops of body oil into your body lotion. Since body wash can strip your skin’s moisture layer, apply body lotion within 3 minutes of drying your skin. Consider patting your body dry to keep your skin damp while you apply lotion. This minimizes moisture loss and maximizes product absorption.

Be mindful that the skin on the body is thicker than the skin on your face. So, non-comedogenic body oils may clog the pores on your face, neck, décolletage, and shoulders. However, non-comedogenic facial oils can be applied anywhere on the body without clogging your pores.

You can apply my new oil on the face, neck, and scalp! Maybe to fade scars elsewhere on your body.

Water-Soluble vs Oil-Soluble

I understand if you’ve tried a vitamin C-infused product in the past and it irritated your skin. The product you used was likely water-soluble, not oil-soluble. My formulation is oil-soluble and gentle enough for all skin types, including sensitive skin.

Water-Soluble Vitamin C Serums

Many vitamin C serums and topicals are formulated with water-soluble vitamins, such as L-ascorbic acid. Water-soluble vitamins dissolve in water, but they don’t penetrate

Vitamin C
your pores. This makes them less effective than oil-soluble products. Being water-soluble, these products lose efficacy with time.

L-ascorbic acid serums have a low/acidic pH. This makes them more likely to sting or irritate your skin.

Oil-Soluble Vitamin C Oils

I formulated my PM Vitamin C Oil with tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate, a premium vitamin C that easily penetrates your skin. I don’t subscribe to the “no pain, no gain” approach to skincare, which is why I chose this alkaline antioxidant. It’s gentle and effective and doesn’t oxidize.

In addition to the tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate, I selected a proprietary blend of ingredients that work together to smooth, brighten, nourish, and calm the skin.

Boost Collagen Production and Brighten Like Crazy

My Vitamin C Oil is rich and luxurious, with a mild and delightful tangerine aroma. Apply it as the final step to your PM skincare routine. Cleanse, tone, apply serum and moisturizer, and then layer the oil on. Wait 1 to 2 minutes between serum, moisturizer, and oil.

Vitamin C Oil

Unlike some facial oils, this soothing formula quickly penetrates your skin, delivering nourishing and restorative antioxidants. The castor oil base and alkaline ingredients are suitable for all skin types, even sensitive, oil-prone, and acne-prone skin.

The ingredients below work synergistically for maximum lifting, smoothing, and brightening.

Castor Seed Oil

This natural emollient instantly softens your skin, calms irritation, and moisturizes to minimize dryness.

Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate

An ultra-gentle, oil-soluble form of vitamin C that brightens the skin, promotes collagen synthesis, and protects against environmental stressors.

Grapeseed Oil

Improves elasticity, supports hydration, and has anti-inflammatory properties to soothe skin and reduce redness.

Cacay (Kahai) Seed Oil

Cacay is one of my favorite multitasking skincare ingredients! It’s loaded with essential fatty acids to support the skin’s barrier. Together with vitamins A and C, cacay restores elasticity, diminishes fine lines, and evens skin tone.

Oat Oil

Another source of omega fatty acids that protect against UV rays and environmental stressors. Vitamins E and C boost hydration and support cellular repair to smooth fine lines.

Turmeric Root Oil

More than a delicious spice, turmeric oil calms inflammation, reduces redness, fades scarring and dark spots, and brightens skin.

Sea Buckthorn Oil

Sea buckthorn is rich in protective omega fatty acids and nourishing vitamins C and E. It boosts hydration, evens skin tone, and improves elasticity.
