I'll be the first to admit that I’m not in the gym every day working out my arm flab or targeting the cellulite on my thighs. I’ve never really had cut arms, that’s simply not my body type—and that’s okay! I know countless women are in the same boat. Fortunately, after 20+ years in the skincare industry, I’ve learned that you don’t need a killer workout (or great genes) to tighten sagging skin.
As a matter of fact, with the right treatment device, you can work on tightening neck and arm flab directly from the comfort of your home! In today’s post, I’ll take you through my top tips for treating a saggy neck, flabby arms, and even cellulite on the thighs, buttocks, and stomach with the at-home Curve Face and Body device. Here’s what you need to know to tighten and tone on your own!
Whether you are a current or former client of mine, discovered me on YouTube or social media, or simply stumbled across my blog while looking for skincare advice, you should know one thing about me: I am a major advocate for at-home treatments. As an award-winning Master Esthetician, I’ve seen first-hand that the best results come from skincare routines that are continued at home.
However, back when I first started as an esthetician in 2001, technologies like radiofrequency, LED, and ultrasound were seemingly impossible for the average person to get their hands on. Now, there are tons of at-home treatment devices that allow anyone to have that “fresh out of the treatment room” feeling, without ever stepping foot in an esthetician's office.
Designed to work in harmony with your skincare routine, at-home devices help target problematic areas and rejuvenate the skin and connective tissue for more noticeable results. More specifically, certain devices—like the Curve Face and Body—help drain an accumulation of lymph, the fluid that flows through the body’s lymphatic system, to reduce tell-tale signs of puffiness and sagginess.
The Curve Face and Body is a German-designed at-home treatment device that’s ideal for the lifting of jowls, tightening of neck sag, and smoothing of arm flab. It even helps with the appearance of cellulite in all areas of the body! The Curve Face and Body combines not two, not three, but four technologies in one device, with a heavy-duty treatment head that can be used from head to toe.
Radiofrequency (RF) technology stimulates collagen production to help improve the signs of wrinkles and sagging skin.
Ultrasound technology helps direct excess fat and lymph fluid into the lymphatic system to smooth and debloat the skin.
Light-emitting diode (LED) technology supports the body’s natural healing process and helps metabolize unwanted toxins.
Biomechanical vibration (VIB) technology uses gentle vibrations to stimulate muscles and improve tissue oxygenation for toned skin.
While the Curve is great for the face, it’s also excellent for clearing out lymph and extracellular waste that accumulates under the neck, arms, and thighs. You can choose from four treatment settings to decide which technologies to apply, though I recommend Level 3, which activates the VIB to help jiggle that flab away. Here are my expert tips for using the Curve Face and Body device.
Pro Tip: Watch me demonstrate how I use the Curve Face and Body device on my YouTube channel!
To treat a saggy neck (what I call a turkey neck), spray a hydrating mist or apply a conducting gel to the area first. With your Curve device on mode 3, level 3, ensure the treatment head is facing up and sweep it from the top of the neck to the bottom. Focus on clearing out excess lymph that’s settled under the chin and push it to the lymph nodes on the side of the neck to drain it. Repeat for five minutes two to three times a week.
If you want to tighten underarm flab, the notorious "bingo wing" sag, start by putting on a tank top, bathing suit top, or your plain old birthday suit so you can use the Curve Face and Body to push lymph from the arm flab into the armpit to drain. Apply a conducting gel to the area and, with the device still on mode3, level 3, use sweeping circular motions towards the armpit. Repeat for 15 minutes on each arm twice a week.
Put the “body” in the Curve Face and Body by using the device as a body sculptor and cellulite treatment. The Curve is safe to use on cellulite on the buttocks, hips, thighs, and stomach. For larger treatment areas, spritz on water instead of applying layers of gel and use Level 3 in a circular motion. Continue for 15 minutes, and always end the treatment by sweeping the device toward lymph nodes in the groin. This can all be repeated twice a week.
Of course, if you’re going to be bringing the treatment room home with the Curve Face and Body device, you’ll need the right complementary products to improve its effectiveness. My fave conducting products include the CBE Botanicals Mist + Conduct Hydrating Mineral Mist and CBE Botanicals Hydrate + Conduct Conducting Gel & Mask, both of which help the Curve glide along the skin and enhance conductivity for the device.
How Often Should I Use the Curve Face and Body Device for the Best Results?
Consistency is key! For optimal results, I recommend using the Curve Face and Body device two to three times a week. Each session should be around 15 minutes, focusing on different areas like your neck, arms, or areas with cellulite. Remember, it's not about overdoing it but rather maintaining a regular routine to see noticeable improvements.
Can I Use the Curve Face and Body Device on Sensitive Skin?
Absolutely! The Curve Face and Body device is designed to be gentle on all skin types, including sensitive skin. However, if you have any specific concerns, start with the lowest setting to see how your skin reacts. Always use a hydrating mist or conducting gel to ensure smooth gliding and better conductivity. If you experience any discomfort or irritation, reduce the frequency or consult with a skincare professional.
This device doesn't heat to the point of undesirable fat pad loss when using for 5 minutes in duration. When using on body parts where fat cell reduction is wanted, use at higher settings for the full 15 minutes. If you are concerned about fat pad loss on the face, use the device without RF turned on or at lowest setting of any modality.
As a licensed master esthetician, I understand the allure of the treatment room to tighten underarm flab and tone a sagging neck. But at-home devices have emerged as fantastic solutions to extend the results of your esthetician visits and make progress toward that desired chiseled look. What makes K-beauty really special is in the formulation and ingredients. I've noticed that many Korean skincare products are cruelty-free, rarely have added fragrances, and often use natural ingredients that aren't well-known in the Western world. Keep reading to learn more about these special ingredients, as well as where to find them in my go-to skincare products.
