The lymphatic system works 24/7 to get rid of waste in the body. You could say it's the body's housekeeper.
Lymph that isn't draining in the face results in puffiness and some sagging. What makes lymph get stuck can range from a sedentary lifestyle, hormonal fluctuations, environmental pollution, infections, stress, and even food and beverages. Ever notice the morning after consuming too much wine or salty snacks or food how puffy the eye area gets?
While this sounds like a battle we can't win, the good news is we can improve it! We can do manual lymph drainage, and I'll show you how.
Lymphatic drainage requires a VERY gentle touch because lymph is close to the surface of the skin. The movement to drain it is more of a sweeping of the skin than a deeper massage movement.
Gravity forces lymph downward, so a gentle up-and-out sweeping movement helps direct the flow of lymph. Again, a gentle touch is all that is necessary. It might feel counterintuitive, but you'll see a gentle sweeping movement; following the directions in the diagram below is effective. Start at the top and work all the way down to the décolletage.
The Anma is an ideal tool to use due to its small and evenly spaced "fingertips." If you don't have an Anma, use your fingertips ever so gently.
To create a better sweeping effect on the surface of your skin, use a glide gel product because it will reduce friction and pulling of the skin. One that stays wet and is nourishing is preferable. I love CBE Botanicals Conducting Gel & Mask for that reason.
Use this lymph-clearing technique any time you're looking puffy and drain it like a Pro!

What makes K-beauty really special is in the formulation and ingredients. I've noticed that many Korean skincare products are cruelty-free, rarely have added fragrances, and often use natural ingredients that aren't well-known in the Western world. Keep reading to learn more about these special ingredients, as well as where to find them in my go-to skincare products.
