If you've been following my work for very long, you know I advocate for a skincare protocol with certain foundational practices. One of them is fascia release. Fascia isn't fiction, my friend. It's fact. Research describes it as having two distinct components - a superficial layer and a deep layer. It exists throughout our bodies and is also within the structure of the face, neck, and décolleté. Here's why it matters.
The picture here is a recent client's before and after her facial with me. You can see the neck appears tight and pulled in an unflattering way in the before picture. By using facial contouring massage, which releases stuck fascia, along with microcurrent and ultrasound, her neck has a more youthful, smooth appearance in the after picture.
Yes, fascia release is a real thing. When you incorporate facial contouring massage into your skincare, you can improve the appearance of the face, neck and décolleté. This occurs because as fascia is released it drains lymph, improves circulation, boosts collagen, and adds energy to the face. This can be achieved using skincare devices designed for the face that support facial contouring work.
A word of caution. Working with the face requires a gentle touch. Using too much pressure on the delicate structure of the face can be counter productive. Fascia is delicate and smashing it by using too much pressure doesn't allow it to properly drain. That's why I love the Anma and have several videos showing how to use it properly. The Anma makes it easier to maintain light and evenly dispersed pressure across the 'fingertips' to effectively reach places needing released.
In closing, yes fascia is absolutely a very real thing. When you take this into consideration within your skincare routine, you'll get better results.

Take a look at the six signs of unhealthy skin that appear even with a solid skin routine, along with the esthetician-trusted tips to fix them!
One of the most obvious signs of unhealthy skin is a dry, flaky complexion. You might not notice how dry your skin has become as you lather on your favorite moisturizer. But you can definitely tell your skin is in need of moisture after applying makeup like foundation or powder. If your skin peels and flakes by the end of the day, you’re most likely overdue for a good exfoliation session!
Exfoliation is the best way to gently loosen dead skin cells, accelerate skin renewal, and revive dry or flaky skin. I recommend washing with the deep cleaning, foamy CBE Botanicals Scrub Away the Day Cleanser, and following with the Revive Exfoliating Serum once or twice weekly. If your skin is sensitive or dry, try the Enzyme Rescue for a gentle but thorough exfoliation.
